Review from Drowned in Sound
"Kinda like Phoenix-Nights-meets-the-toilet-circuit. Cambridge's newest addition to the gig circuit, with a capacity of 200, reasonably priced bar and a quirky atmosphere."

The Portland Arms

The Portland Arms has put on music for over 30 years, there is even a vinyl bootleg of The Soft Boys recorded 'upstairs at The Portland Arms' in 1983. The back room is perfect for gigs, small and sweaty with an inimitable atmosphere and a great sound.

The Portland Arms is situated by the river on Chesterton Road at a spot known as Mitcham's Corner. If coming from outside Cambridge, head down the A14 til you reach the A1309. Go straight down this road towards Cambridge for about 2 miles until you get to a big roundabout with Staples on it; The Portland is just before this roundabout on your right.

The official address is

The Cellar Bar

The Cellar Bar, one time home of the legendary Panic! nights, is secreted away under the pavements of the Grafton Centre. Its many hidden rooms and relaxed feel mean that it's a great place to watch music, chat, argue and relax. Its late license means that we can have DJs after the bands are over. It can be a bit tricky to find so here's its address.
