Neo

City 69 demo ep

Er, wow. Neo are almost as good recorded as they are live, and I didn't think that would be possible. Five punk-pop songs with a dark, gothic undertone to them; great riffs and catchy choruses which bounce around your head for ages after hearing them, and which are very welcome to do so. The best track to my mind is 'Die in America': a vitriolic, biting track with stunning drums, atmospheric, distorted vocals, a driven guitar riff and some very nice siren-effects. The other standout track is 'Beautiful' which has
one of the catchiest choruses ever and which I always leave Neo's gigs humming even when they're first on the bill. So yes - Neo are one of the best new bands I've heard in ages, they're absolutely stunning and if you have a chance to see them live then for gods' sake DO. And in the meantime
write to Neo, 1 Brookfield Farm Cottages, Ermine Street, Great Stukeley, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE17 5AB and get yerself a copy of this. Because it's amazing and you NEED it.
