ALEX WINSTON- Careless

I’ve been sitting on a train quite a lot recently. This is not the first time that I’ve commuted into London for work but it just seems worse this time. Still, at least I have some optimistic and uplifting pop to keep me sane when my head is wedged into some stranger’s orifice while a bald old man utters little coughs over my flailing corpse. In the ilk of Niki and the Dove’s electro-pop style, ‘Careless’ is the first song from the New Yorker’s forthcoming album and it could just have saved my tired existence. While the press release tries to look for meaning (her work’s theme is stepping outside of herself or something), I just want to dance. I would say on the bones of the bigwigs at National Rail but that would be mean, right?
