Seasons in the Sun?

Not sure if it's made the news beyond the confines of Leeds, but we got our season ticket renewal forms yesterday. Mine's going up almost 40% from £460 to £640 ( to suffer further embarrassment at the hands of Crewe, Burnley, Watford and, probably, Luton and Hull ) ... it has to be paid in full before 15 May ( three months before the season begins ) otherwise it goes up to £680 ... and, the worst part, to save money they're opening the East Stand Upper "only on match days when the stand is required" ... the stand where I've sat in the same seat for 12 years since it was built, where I know everyone who sits around me, where I've seen us play in the Champions League semi-final and where I've seen us relegated, where I've seen Howard Wilkinson, George Graham, David O'Leary, Terry Venables, Peter Reid and Eddie Gray all come and go as manager, where I've jumped for joy and where I've cried with pain ... and where I'm not allowed to sit any more.

And this at a club where we're averaging nearly 30,000 this season ... 30,000 loyal diehards who stick with that club through thick and thin ...

I tell you, mate ... I've never felt so shafted in all my life ...

All the best,

Ian Cheek

ps I've been keeping an eye on Cambridge ... it's not looking good, is it? I'll be thinking of you tomorrow ...
